September 16, 2017 (Bhadra 31, 2074): DSRC held its monthly program at IACER on Saturday, Bhadra 31, 2074 . Shekhar Pokharel presented his initiation paper in the form of PowerPoint presentation on Laxmi Prasad Devkota’s essay “The Muscovite and the Kathmandu Wight.” In his paper, he pointed out how beautifully the essayist Devkota showed the differences between the lives of people in two countries. Many participants made their observations on the essay. Dr. Manfred Treu viewed that the essayist Devkota in the essay expressed progressive outlook for materialistic life. According to Prof. Padma Devkota, there is a tilt towards a communist state in the essay and the essayist is looking for a fulfilled life, not only for change. Prof. Shreedhar Lohani explained the significance of the title and the style of the essay. He viewed that the style of the essay is as important as the content.
